How to use
It is essential that the surfaces are perfectly clean, dry and in good grip.
Once a well-consolidated surface is achieved, apply the paint directly by brush or roller, as it comes in the container. If it is necessary to dilute, add 5% to 10% water.
For second hands, it is recommended to wait at least 12 hours.
It can be applied on cement, concrete, artificial stone and on any paint that is perfectly adhered, sanded and with sufficient porosity to allow a good adhesion.
In the case of newly constructed cement, it is important to wait until the cement is fully cured before applying the paint (at least one month).
Surface preparation
Mortars and concretes:
Unpainted surfaces: Wait 30 days for the correct setting, clean efflorescences, remnants of release agents, molds and verdigris, loose particles and dirt, when it is necessary to open pores by sanding the polished surfaces. Before applying the topcoat, it is recommended to seal with KOLMAN FIXING SEALANT or with KOLMAN ANTI-BONDING PRIMER, as required.
Already painted surfacesas: Remove all old or badly adhering paint. If the surface does not have good adhesion, it should be sanded and primed if necessary. If molds or verdigris are present, they must be treated and eliminated. Check the compatibility of the support and the existing paint with the new paint that will be applied.
Plasters and plasters:
Unpainted surfaces: Wait 30 days for the correct setting / drying. Clean and clean the support, eliminating efflorescence and loose particles. Apply a sealer, fixer or anti-carbonation primer, if necessary. If the support is sufficiently well, a first coat of the diluted topcoat may suffice.
Surfaces already painted: Remove all old or poorly adhered paint. In case the surface does not have good adhesion, it should be sanded and primed if necessary. If there is presence of efflorescence, mold or verdigris, they must be treated and eliminated. Check the compatibility of the support and the existing paint, with the paint that will be used.
Ferrous metal surfaces:
Unpainted surfaces: On iron or steel supports, it will be sanded and cleaned with a cloth with solvent to remove oils and greases, as well as traces of rust. ThenA layer of antioxidant primer will be applied to finish with the chosen enamel, unless an antioxidant enamel is used and the primer is not necessary.
Surfaces already painted: Remove all old or poorly adhered paint. If the old paint has been removed, proceed as in the new surfaces. If it has not been removed, check the compatibility of the existing paint with the one to be used.
Non-ferrous surfaces of difficult adhesion:
Unpainted surfaces: On surfaces such as aluminum, stainless steel, brass, galvanized, pvc ..., in addition to cleaning with a cloth with solvent to remove oils and greases, it must be treated with a specific adherent primer (primer wash, multi-stick primer, etc.) ) and then apply the chosen finishing product or use a multi-adhesive finishing product or with direct adhesion on this type of supports. In case there are oxidation points, it will have to be treated specifically by means of an antioxidant primer, checking the compatibility of the same with the surface and applying the necessary layers of product.
Surfaces already painted: Remove all old or poorly adhered paint. In case the surface does not have good adhesion, it should be sanded and primed if necessary. If there is pResistance of oxide, it must be treated and eliminate loose particles. Check the compatibility of the support and the existing paint, with the paint that will be used.
