Description
ISO NEO gel coat is an isophthalic neopentiglycol unsaturated polyester resin based gel coat. Its specific formula gives this gel the following properties:
-Good mechanical resistance
-Good resistance to hydrolysis and external aging
TOP COAT: The Top Coat version is waxed to be used as a final coat.
Applications
Gelcoat is specially intended for the production of parts for industry. It is pre-accelerated and only requires the addition of a catalyst to activate the polymerization reaction.
-Making parts
-Naval construction and automobile construction
-Refrigerator and building panels
-Industrial parts
How to use
It must be completely stirred before use. For applications that require the use of a solvent, add a maximum of 10% acetone and possibly styrene.
The added catalyst must be MECK at 50% and the amount between 1.5 and 2.5%. The catalyst is included in the order.
The thickness of the gel coat applied should be approx.approximately over 800 microns or less depending on the end use of the manufactured product.
The temperature of the workshop, the gel coat and the molds must be between 18 and 25º C, the relative humidity must be less than 85%.
Gelation time
The amount of catalyst and the temperature determine the gel time. At 20 ° C, the product gel time for 100 parts of gelcoat and 2 parts of catalyst is 9 to 11 minutes.
